Man, I think they were right about me....

All my life people have been saying I was born in the wrong time period and i have to say I think theyre right. I mean these are three of my favorite shows and they are all older than I am. Anywho, lets hop into my time machine and learn a little something about these, shall we? Retro TV, here we come....

Dr.Quincy

  Batman.....v

Ok, this isnt the cartoon version, or one of the movies with the 90lb rubber suits, this is the good one. This is the version starring Adam West as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Burt Ward as Dick Grayson/Robin. This shows even older than "Quincy", Holy TvLand Batman!!! Anywho, this show was started back in 1966. It had great villians such as The Joker(Cesar Romaro) that devilish clown prince of crime and The Penguin(Burgess Meredith) a fine feathered fink with a fondness for umbrellas, amoung others.

Batman was one of the few superheros who relied on logic instead of brawn *coughprobablyduetohislackofsuperpowerscough*. Every other episode was a cliffhanger which reminded you to tune in next week at "the Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel". Another great thing was that all of Batmans gadgets were convinently labeled.

Quincy, M.E.........^

This was a terrific show about a medical examiner. It started way back in 1976, yes ladies and gentlemen, this show is older then I am. Anywho, it stared Jack Klugman, as Dr. R. Quincy, M.E. and Robert Ito as his ever faithful assistant, Sam Fujiyama. There are a few things I learned from watching "Quincy", 1.Never build a cemetery on/near a hill. 2.Never eat taco shell bowls, I dont care if theyre edible. 3.While houseboats offer freedom, its more then likely that youll be called away to work as soon as it needs the most repair. 4. Beepers were HUGE back in the day. And finally, 5. The middle aged medical examiner is always right and he ALWAYS gets the 20-something hottie.

Now, if any of you have seen "Crossing Jordan" or "Diagnosis Murder" then youll pretty much get the jist of the show. In fact, Jack Klugman has made guest apperances on both of those shows.

some quincy info, if youre interested.....

Kolchak: The Night Stalker........>

This particular show was made back in 1974 and it only has about 20 episodes. Its about a reporter, Carl Kolchak(Darren McGavin), for the INS, Independent News Service. Each week Kolchak encounters a supernatural being, be it a vampire, werewolf or good old fashioned witch doctor....in Chicago. Kolchak always survived the creatures wrath, but his stories couldnt survive Tonys editorial pencil. Dont get me wrong, Carl always got his stories, but vampires in Chicago? A little hard to swallow.

The show ended, not do to bad ratings, but because McGavin didnt want to be a "monster of the week" type actor.

a pretty cool site for kolchak.....

Holy Caped Crusaders Batman!!!
